Describe the bug

While watching The Sopranos, Season 5 Episode 11, using English subtitles from OpenSubtitles, the character “ñ” was displayed as the Unicode replacement character “”. For example, “señor” appeared as “seor”.

This did not appear to happen with the normal “English Embedded” subtitles, which displayed the character correctly.

To Reproduce

  1. Open The Sopranos, Season 5 Episode 11.
  2. Select the English subtitles from OpenSubtitles.
  3. Go to 27:31 in the episode.
  4. Observe that “señor” is displayed as “seor”.
  5. Switch to the “English Embedded” subtitles and observe that the character displays correctly.

Expected behavior

Subtitles should correctly display accented characters. The word should appear as “señor”, not “seor”.
