Architecture Highlights

Interface-Based Design

interface Connection : AutoCloseable {
    fun connect(): ConnectionResult
    fun execute(command: String, timeout: Int): ExecutionResult
    fun uploadFile(localPath: String, remotePath: String): TransferResult
    fun downloadFile(remotePath: String, localPath: String): TransferResult
    fun disconnect()
    fun getMetadata(): ConnectionMetadata
    fun getHealth(): ConnectionHealth
    fun validateConfig(): ValidationResult
}

Factory Pattern

object ConnectionFactory {
    fun createConnection(config: ConnectionConfig): Connection
    fun createSSHConnection(...): Connection
    fun createLocalConnection(...): Connection
    fun createDockerConnection(...): Connection
}

Template Method Pattern

abstract class BaseConnection(config: ConnectionConfig) : Connection {
    final override fun connect(): ConnectionResult {
        // Common logic + audit logging
        val result = doConnect()
        // More common logic
    }

    protected abstract fun doConnect(): ConnectionResult
    protected abstract fun doExecute(...)
    ...
}
