I've got a new mainboard (Biostar B760MXC PRO, the DDR5 variant, and a Intel Pentium Gold G7400) with 8 SATA ports so I can wipe a lot of drives simultaneously. But I ran into this problem: Drives connected to ports 1 through 4 only report a real max sectors size of 1. The same drives connected to ports 5 through 8 report their correct size.
In the nwipe_log I see that it and hdparm report 1, but libata reports the correct value.
With the new t-option I can see that the path is different:
Wrong size reported:
pci0000:00 -> 0000:00:17.0 SATA controller: Intel Corporation Raptor Lage SATA AHCI Controller (rev 11)
Correct size reported:
pci0000:00 -> 0000:00:1c.3 PCI bridge: Intel Corportaion Raptor Lake PCI Express Root Port #4 (rev 11) -> 0000:02:00.0 SATA controller: ASMedia Technology Inc. ASM1064 Serial ATA Controller (rev 02)
Also, for some reason in the log it says ata1 through ata4 are "DUMMY", so the physical SATA port 1 is reported as ata5 and so on...
