How much training would be enough? #211

Hi,
I have trained for more than 42 hours (go_forever.sh) with total timesteps more than 515,000,000. For past 24 hours I have been unable to go past Cerulean City :(
However, on the live broadcast map I can see training sessions that have reached regions furthermore. Is this just time dependent or are they using a different training strategy?
Can someone share their own experiences?
