[Feature Request] is there any path towards enabling Spatial 3D Audio with Vibepollo, Moonlight/Artemis/etc.? for Resident Evil Requiem and other games
#155
For in home streaming using Vibepollo with Moonlight or Artemis as the client, what is the limited factor (technical or business or other) that prevents spatial surround sound from working (like Dolby Atmos or some sort of 3d Spatial Audio)? Is there any proof that it can work? Noted that there licensing fees for Dolby/DTS but they are free apps to enable spatial support for Home Theater setups.
I know I can drag my computer (I don't want or like to) to my home theater and can enable spatial surround sound. Is there some creative path that could somehow enable the spatial audio feature and bring it to in-home streaming? I believe the current methodology piggybacks on Steam Streaming Audio, but perhaps there's an opportunity to fork or create some new audio backend that can handle the 3d audio feature? My wishlist is for sophisticated games like RE Requiem to also support 3D Audio even in the in-home streaming. 3d spatial audio seems like one of the last things quality of life that is still missing from in-home streaming.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts or pathfinding towards this!
