Description of the feature you're suggesting.
- Leaving "classic" protocols (fixed, KeeLoq, some custom ones from classic manufacturers...) in the main SubGHz app
- Creating a new SubGHz app specifically for newer AES, or more complex protocols
We only have Beninca VA and Hormann BiSecur right now. But we can expect this to grow in the future.
Anything else?
The list of supported SubGHz protocols is (and hopefully will be) growing, but the internal memory and RAM are constrained. First, we had a split of weather stations and TPMS, now, car/alarm protocols were removed (since we have protopirate).
Now, I think, there is another critical moment - disabling perfectly working protocols by default:
In 7c27fe9 it is mentioned:
Disabled X10 and Hormann Bisecur protocols due to flash space constraints and very limited usefulness
Well, I'd argue that Bisecur is a very popular system, and the implementation here is very useful. Having to compile a custom FW version just to use it is nuts.
I know that so far, only two such protocols "leaked" to the community, but I would hope more to come (Somfy IO, Somloq2, Cardin...). If it comes, you wouldn't have to think where to put it and what to disable in the main app...
