Epic tasks

Hi. What is the most natural way to model an "epic" in Taskwarrior?

I have a high-level task with several subtasks.

My current approach is that the epic depends on all its subtasks, tagged with +epic:

task add "Implement background sync" +epic
task add "Subtask 1" && task add "Subtask 2"
task 1 modify depends:2,3

This works but feels semantically backwards. The epic doesn't "depend on" subtasks, it "contains" them.

Is there some other recommended pattern? I considered projects as well, but then the epic does not have its own task.

Have you seen #3977? Seems like we're using slightly different terminology to discuss essentially the same thing.
