When editing source you can't add html entities like €. The dialog says 'the HTML seems invalid' and offers to autocorrect it. If you cancel the autocorrect, it won't save the HTML.

I think you should be able to skip the autocorrect and still save. In addition the autocorrect should understand html entities in all forms.

HTML entities that are automatically replaced with UTF-8 characters. The dialog sees that change and interprets it as incorrect HTML. The dialog should probably phrase this differently and show a preview.
