version before upgrade: 1.4.1. Running do_anduinos_upgrade command ends up with the same error message. I tried again the command, and was told the system is already up to date. [ OK ] Update do-anduinos-autorepair tool succeeded cp: '/etc/os-release' and '/usr/lib/os-release' are the same file |

Effective immediately, the upgrade path from AnduinOS 1.3.9 to AnduinOS 1.4.2 is open to all users. Due to the imminent End of Life (EOL) of the upstream base, we strongly advise all users on the 1.3 branch to upgrade as soon as possible.
AnduinOS 1.3 is derived from Ubuntu 25.04 (Plucky). Upstream maintenance for Ubuntu 25.04 will officially cease on January 30, 2026. After this date, security updates and repository access for the 1.3 branch cannot be guaranteed.
Upgrade Procedure
The upgrade process has been automated via the terminal. To initiate the upgrade, execute the following command:
Estimated Duration: 1 to 2 hours.
System Impact: The system may reboot during the process.
Technical Workflow
The
do_anduinos_upgradeutility performs the following sequential actions:pluckytoquesting.Critical Warnings and Prerequisites
Before proceeding, you must adhere to the following:
initramfs-toolsor custom-compiled kernels. These will likely be rolled back to the distribution default.dracutconfigurations.Troubleshooting
This upgrade carries inherent risks. Please follow these recovery protocols if failures occur:

Note on AnduinOS 1.1
This announcement applies strictly to the 1.3 branch. Users running AnduinOS 1.1 are unaffected by the upstream EOL and do not need to take action at this time.
