I don't see it linked from here, and the author appears to be different, but I'm not certain.

I was just recently doing a quick google search to get to the docs for waybar and this page showed in the results.

This page screams fraudulent for various reasons:

1. The page is not listed here in the git repository
2. The domain was registered 10th of September 2025 and last updated 5 days later (less than a month ago), see https://who.is/whois/waybar.org
3. The site does not let you download the code from the releases here on GitHub.
   I did download the archive from their site to an isolated environment, at a cursory glance the code is from this repository but I cannot say if it contains any malicious code.
4. The contact us email is for a random gmail address instead of Alexays email address (which is listed on their profile page).
5. They list their location in the UK, while Alexays (as stated on their profile page) resides in France.

@Alexays, pinging you just in case you've not yet see the discussion and like to take action.

It's definitely not official, why would an official waybar site use the hyprland logo? and their example screenshot isn't even using waybar at all. At the bottom for the logo they misspelled waybar as wabar... hosted in america, official address given as UK. The creator of waybar seems to be from france.

It's also like a landing page to sell a product.... it doesn't add up. I'm not entirely sure what the motive could be.

There should be a heads up somewhere in the repo that this site isn't run by the maintainers of Waybar.

The site is very clearly generated by AI, and I would imagine that the goal right now is just referral farming. But, it is only a matter of time before someone offers them money to add a download link to something malicious.

@Alexays do you need help getting the site taken down? I am assuming that you own the copyright to Waybar. Do you have a trademark filing?

Guys, we should report this website to google, to not show it. majority website is ai generated and has a lot out ai generated scam articles.

Wow the .org website is comically bad, like in their QA they have facts about "sway bars" for automobiles mixed in with the rest of the slop.

Came here to ask what the hell is going on with waybar.org
It has a bizarre AI generated dashboard with complete jibberish on the main page, and the entire thing reads like foreign AI slop.
